Top 5: Best Brunch in Harlem

If you haven’t been told already, New York City is the omega of all brunches. Why do we brunch so hard? How did brunching become a verb? Don’t know and don’t care but, it has become one of my all time favorite activities. You’re telling me I can get cute, eat, drink, dance and be back home in time for a nap? Sounds like the perfect day to me and in Harlem it is definitely an occasion. Get drunk off mimosas, order your chicken and waffles and wear your Sunday’s best at these iconic Harlem restaurants. Suitable for the times we’re currently in, all of these restaurants have outdoor dining.

Red Rooster

This has to be my favorite restaurant in Harlem and for good reason. Winner of multiple awards, competitions and the guest chef for the Obama Administration’s first state dinner, Chef Marcus Samuelssn, serves comfort food with it’s roots in American cuisine. Accompanied with live music multiple times a week, there’s no better restaurant that captures the essence of Harlem.

Chocolat Restaurant & Bar

This picture alone should convince you to make a visit. Serving a delicious array of soul food and contemporary American cuisine, Chocolate dances to the beat of their own drum. With their black staff and brown decor, you’ll make no mistake that you’re in the heart of Harlem.

Corner Social

A Harlem brunch staple. Serving contemporary American cuisine, this restaurant brings all the vibes with their music and bottomless mimosas. Their shrimp and grits are so scrumptious I had to write a separate piece about it. You can read it here.

Angel of Harlem

Did I come here to get drunk or to eat? I don’t remember but, I do remember always having an amazing time with every visit. Serving contemporary American cuisine with Latin & Caribbean flavors, Angel of Harlem also serves as a platform for local artists.

A refuge in the city, no need to make a trip to Little Italy when this restaurant serves classic Italian fare, perfectly positioned on the corner of Harlem’s Row. A hot spot for true brunchers, you’ll find everything on this menu is delizioso.
